The city of Alicante, with a population of 335,000, is one of the main tourist destinations on Spain's east coast and has its own airport.
The many golf courses (10-odd nearby overlooking the sea), along with the calm waters make this a this beautiful port city, which sits at the foot of Santa Barbara Castle.
The city and port are flanked by Mount Benacantil, a rocky promontory crowned by the Santa Barbara fortress.
From the top of the ancient walls, you have an impressive view of the entire city while enjoying the impressive coastline and many kilometers of beautiful nature. 

The promenade Explanada de España, located opposite the port, is a lively boulevard with terraces and cafes.
Along the port's breakwater you will also find many bars and restaurants.
A visit to renovated Provincial Archaeological Museum (MARQ) is worthwhile. 

Alicante is also a land of deep-rooted traditions.
A popular celebration is Noche de San Juan (the Night of Saint John) on June 24.
The main features of this fiesta are the bonfires.
Traditionally, on this night ninots (papier-mâché effigies or rag dolls), which had been on display in the streets of the capital over the past few days, are burned at the stake.

There are numerous natural treasures in Alicante that are well worth visiting.

The village of Finestrat and the resort of Cala Finestrat are close to Benidorm and about 40 kilometers from the city of Alicante and the airport.
Located on a mountainside, Finestrat offers stunning views of the mountains, the coast and the Mediterranean Sea. The charming village has a typical Moorish feel, with colorfully painted houses and narrow cobbled streets. There are a few bars, restos, stores and amenities. But nearby you have all the amenities and facilities of Cala Finestrat and Benidorm.
Cala Finestrat on the other hand has become increasingly popular and by now has almost become an extension of Benidorm (is also only 3km away). Full of resorts, bars, stores and tourists. Cala Finestrat is especially suitable for those looking for a relaxing beach resort. Then again, La Cala beach is quite quiet, as most people who want a more upbeat atmosphere go to the beaches around Benidorm. 

For children, there are also some theme parks & water parks nearby. Do you play golf? Then with Real Faula golf club you have 2 excellent courses nearby.

At the time, the Romans dedicated this city to the goddess Diana and turned the port into one of the most active on the peninsula.
To this day, Dénia remains well visited. The city has some monuments such as the church and town hall, which still has two plaques of the ancient temple of Diana in its facade.
You also have in Dénia a fishing district, the most popular and cozy area in town. Denia has a commercial port and a marina. Denia has 20 kilometers of coastline and a population of 40,000. This makes it one of the largest cities on the Costa blanca. You have beaches with fine sand in the northern part, but steep and rocky parts in the south.
The municipality has numerous single-story houses scattered around, with white facades, red-tiled roofs and the porticoes typical of this region. A trip to Ibiza, Formentera or Palma de Majorca? Via a ferry in the harbor, this is perfectly possible.

Torrevieja has a population of 85,000 and is a tourist town whose life revolves around the sea and the production of salt.
The two huge salt mines, La Mata y Torrevieja, are surrounded by modern residential areas. The 2 salt mines are connected and have been declared a natural reserve; they reach the sea through La Mata.
Today, Torrevieja salt is exported all over the world and annual production exceeds one million tons.
With the fishing and commercial port In Torrevieja, the seafaring tradition is kept alive by the important activity of the many piers at the Royal Sailing Club and the international marina.
Towards the end of the promenade we find the wharves from which ships, loaded with salt, would leave for Cuba. 
Bustling Torrevieja is a popular town and many tourists and expats find their way here.

It is about a 50minute drive from both Murcia and Alicante airports. 

Torrevieja has a population of 85,000 and is a tourist town whose life revolves around the sea and the production of salt.
